Kolikrát si lekce pouštěl i manžel, aby si angličtinu procvičil. No ale musíš mít taky snahu, si ty lekce pouštět a učit se :)

Ahoj, no můžeš to zkusit prvně doma a uvidíš, jak ti to půjde, do nějakého kurzu můžeš jít vždycky, ne? :)

      RE: bilingual baby
Thank you for coming with such an interesting topic.
I also used to think about this. In the end, I decided not to do that. My idea was English or / and German.
In my opinion, to do this makes sense if:
      a) the foreign language is a mother tongue of one of the parents of the child
      b) the child is living with his parents abroad
That means, either one of the parents is talking to the child just using the foreign language or the child is entirely surrounded by that in it´s daily life.
I am affraid, living e.g. in the Czech Republic, with both parents speaking in Czech to him, the child could get confused to hear the foreign language from one of the parenst just time to time (although, even this is probably certainly better than nothing). In my opinion, it is hardly possible to organize the family life in such a way, that one of the Czech parents would be really talking to the child just in English.
In this case, it would more likely be "just teaching" then a bilingual education.
My intention is therefore to support my children in learning foreign languages rather than bringing them up in a biligual way. (Also an English nursery or kindergarten could be useful for the child, at least for the part of the day it would entirely be surrounded with English, forced to use the language in each situation. What a shame, there is nothing like this in our area.)
May I ask you a little bit personal question? Is you partner, the father of your child, a foreigner?

        RE: bilingual baby
I think when she/he ? sais my "love" is english - that means is forgein.

About me - I have an american partnerand father of my 11months old doughter. So I read a lot about it, but unfortunately can not help yet - because my doughter doesnt speak yet  and because we have to be separate for a long time.
But from what I read from real people, there is the most inportant thing to watch carefuly - czech parent speaks only czech to the child and english parent speak only english to the child.
There is a lot of reasons, but I would be rather to tell you in czech language. I am very tired for english now.
I would just say DON'T WORRY - kids are such a smart wonderful people and when they live in the family with two languages, they are excelent in a both of them. There is a problem when they are older and may stop wanting to speak in one of that languages.
But if you gonna be in CR and the other parent is english - there is NO PROBLEM.The kid will be just alsom.
Good luck and you can send me a message if you want to talk about it little more :-)

          RE: bilingual baby
I’m expecting baby again. But we have one lingual family. I have been visiting regular week English course at state English school. Be honest it is difficult to prepare before each lesson. After returning home I feel very tired because our one-year-old daughter is no-sleeper. Of course it is good occasion how to run from daily routine. I’m wonder how I will be managing with two children…

Každá umíme něco jinýho, každá jsme jednička, každá jinak, ale všechny bez rozdílu, no ne?

Zrovna nedávno jsem viděla HOMERA (čti houmra) SIMPSONA do auta... supr postavička a sprostě nadává - bohužel jen anglicky, ale kdo ví, příští rok bude třeba i česky) no a na humrovi by si jistě manža pošmáknul. • Something interesting from babycenter webside
We were talking many times about spoiling baby (mostly newborn to 6 months)on a czech parts of our BOL.I like this american expert answer, exspecially because czech people ( relatives and older people) are still believing that you can spoil your baby and telling you to be careful. I trust much more this american way ( even if not allways), because I could see how much mor sure and good feel all kids in America with parents who are giving tham their trust and love. We - czech grown kids feel very unsure many times, even when we are an adults ( me for example) because parents told us we are not good enough and didn't want to spoil us.

So here is the "perfect english" answer from an expert:

Should I worry about spoiling my baby?
If I lavish love and attention on my baby, will I spoil him?

    Expert Answers
Sandy Bailey, certified family life educator
No. Young babies are completely spoil-proof. Your baby needs all the care and attention you can give. Ignore the advice of well-meaning relatives who think babies need to learn independence. Instead, listen to your parental instinct — that inner voice that tells you to comfort your baby when he cries.

"Spoiled children" have learned to use negative behavior to get what they want. But your baby is too young to purposefully manipulate or annoy you. He cries to communicate his needs, whether they're for a snack, a dry diaper, or a little cuddling with Mom or Dad. When you respond quickly to your baby, you're building his sense of self-worth. You're also establishing a foundation of trust that can last for years to come.

If you give your baby prompt attention, he'll feel more secure and less anxious, giving him the courage to explore the world on his own. And once he understands that you take his cries seriously, he'll be less likely to cry for no reason. In the long run, responding quickly to your baby's needs will make him less clingy and demanding, not more.

By the time your baby is 6 to 8 months old, he'll be paying close attention to cause and effect — noticing, for instance, that his bowl falls when he drops it from the highchair. He'll also start to see a direct link between his actions and your responses. At this point it's okay to set some limits. If your baby starts crying to get something he doesn't need, hold your ground and give him a hug when he calms down. Similarly, give hugs and praise for good behavior and gently redirect him when he's doing something hazardous.

The right blend of love and guidance will eventually help your child understand his place in the world. But for now, your focus should be on giving him as much attention and comfort as you can. No matter how much you give, it's not more than he needs.
